Color correction advice

Hello, I made a post asking if the dvx has a manual white balance feature (thanks for the help) which leads me to this topic...

I'm a complete color freak and would like any advice on how you guy go about getting that look you want, do you white balance to color paper, use gels, do it in post, all of the above?

Any advice on techniques, software, equipment, would be greatly greatly appreciated to this noob.

THANKS AGAIN! ;D

Re: Color correction advice

i guess all of the above.
if you want a certain look for a whole sequence then the option to do it with gels or a white balance to a coloured card helps keeping rendertimes low.

but if you want to leave yourself options in the editprocess then do it in post. i don´t think there is a valid rule for all.

i personally try to keep everything clean and do it in post.

thanks alpi, yeah, I'm not looking for "rules", I'm just really interested in everyones personal experiences

Re: Color correction advice

Excellent reference page! Also demonstrates why you don't need "warm cards" -- the DVX has the ability to bias the color temperature towards warm or cool, inherently!

Re: Color correction advice

That is a nice LINK thansk for sharing!

I start off my CC usually with Saturation and then adjust from there
