These are 1080 HD-size TIF files from the color corrected version of my documentary, IRAQ IN FRAGMENTS

http://www.iraqinfragments.com/stillimages/

most of these screen grabs are shot with the DVX100, two are with the DVX100A.

the up-res and color correction were done at Modern Digital in Seattle using their da Vinci 2K machine. The resulting files were then transferred out to 35mm film at Alpha Cine Labs, also in Seattle.

Nice work James, some excellent photography you got there. Congrats on the success of your documentary :) I would love to see a clip though!

thanks -- the original shooting format was 24pA, letterboxed, BTW.

Working on re-making the film website to inlcude clips, etc.

Hey, is this really THE James Longley? Congrats on some outstanding doc work. It really takes a lot of balls and dedication to spend time shooting during the last few years in Iraq. I've read a lot about your project, including the overheating cameras taped up to prevent camera cough. Just outstanding stuff, man! Outstanding.

So, what are you doing next? :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

Hey have a minor celebrity at work here. I would love to see your work and trailer. Any ideas of a UK release? I like documentaries that aren't necessarily trying to make a political point, it's nice to create something that just exists.

Also just wondering has anyone had any experience with this?

It's from magic bullet and makes your DV into HD 1080. Would be good if your DV movie got to the cinema.

the IRAQ IN FRAGMENTS documentary is just touring festivals right now -- hopefully will have a theatrical release in fall, starting in NYC. Shouid be on DVD some time after that.
Meanwhile, you can catch it at Full Frame in North Carolina, HotDocs in Toronto, the Washington DC film festival, San Francisco International, Sundance @BAM series and Human Rights Watch festival in New York -- also Istanbul International and looks like Melbourne, Australia, etc...
And tomorrow (friday) it will play at the Seattle Cinerama at 7pm as part of the Arab and Iranian film festival.

Hey James, I actually have a shoot in Seattle tommorow afternoon, I might just have to catch that at the theatre. I'm looking forward to it.
