Other: color controls on Odyssey7Q

Mitch, i meant to ask you this question at NAB but got sick and stayed home so:

I'm very happy with my Odyssey 7Q+ but the only criticism I have is that the colorimetry of the Small HD DPPro7 OLED is more accurate - virtually the same as my 17" Flanders monitor. The Odyssey isn't bad but not as dead-on. Do you guys have any intention of upgrading the accuracy of the color?

Along those lines - currently I have controls for Saturation , Contrast and backlight level. Can you guys add a typical Brightness Level adjustment (i.e. black level) also?

Also is the Contrast adjustment basically a gain adjustment raising the brighter parts of the picture ? I've never understood why TV's & monitors don't say Gain and Black level instead of Contrast and Brightness , but maybe there is some reason re the engineering behind those adjustments.

last question: Is there a way to turn the Color Bars back on after the monitor has booted up?

Everything you are asking for is in the upcoming April firmware update (at least it's supposed to be -- gotta check with the engineers if it will all be done in time). I need to check in with them again to make sure I'm clear on this, but we will revert (we had it before) back to traditional brightness and contrast controls, which are effectively black point and white point controls (as I understand it). We will also have not only the RGB gains, but also RGB bias adjustments. And yes, we will be adding test patterns you can bring up on screen, the first of which is classic SMPTE color bars.
