Color changing upon zooming

Has anyone experienced this before? I've noticed when shooting with the DVX. When I zoom in or out of a shot I sometimes notice a slight change in color. I have my iris on a manual setting along with a fixed white balance at 3200 k or 5400 k. Is there another option that might be causing this variance?

Color? Or brightness?

There should be no change in color at all. But if you're at wide-open aperture you could experience a change in brightness the further you zoom in; at Z00 the lens is capable of opening up to 1.6, but at Z99 the maximum open iris is 2.8, so you could expect it to get darker as you zoom in. (unless you have your iris set to something between 2.8 and 16, in which case it should be constant throughout the zoom range.)

Brightness

Brightness

Well both seem to change. But I think it is mainly the brightness. That might be affecting how I see the color.

Now since the camera can't open as wide at specific focal lengths it automatically adjusts the f-stop then? If I stay at a 2.8 I should be fine?
