Color bit depth

I've seen talk here and there of the color bit depth of the 150 @ 8 bit.

I just purchased an HDMI switcher that supports 12-bit deep color. Are these two measurements the same thing?

I want to plug the 150 into my TV via HDMI *through* this switch and am unsure if it will limit the picture in any way.

Other specs on the box are:

- supoport for HDMI 1.3b
- suports for HD @ 1080p
- up to 2.5 Gbps

It was a cheapy unit off of Amazon and it didn't list all of the info on the site. Now that I have it I think it might not be good enough.

Any thoughts? Thanks!!

12 > 8, you'll be fine. There isn't much that actually makes use of anything more than 8 bits right now, but anything greater will just be more future proof. HDMI is backward compatible with its earlier revisions, so it never hurts to have components up to the latest spec.
