color bars?

[Lake Films]

Hey guys,
Can someone give me a quick breakdown (Or direct me to a site etc...) on how to properly calibrate a monitor. I have used televisions in the past and just got a 'real' monitor and want to use it properly. Thanks!

I don't use color bars, they're racist.
