SHORT: College Thesis Film: RED 4k: Psychic Cheerleaders Dawn of the New Age

Are you looking for critique? Not that there was much not to like. A couple of scene's I thought the lighting could be more fit to the feel of the scene, like at the table where the evil guy is drugging her. It could have been a bit more moody, maybe less key, The practicles seemed a bit to hot, maybe a dimmer would have softened them up a bit and created a darker more evil feel. The red light scene was a bit over the top, almost to red for me. I would have liked to see a red outline by backlighting the two's dialogue, while the remainder of the frame set in off white light. But with high contrast Almost as if their ora is behind the light. Of course this is subjective. Lighting is my favorite part of filmmaking. I'm always looking at different ways to light scenes. I was also not very crazy about the scoring, seemed as if it were just stock music thrown over the scene. I guess i'm saying it really didn't motivate any emotion in me. Honestly thought it was the weakest part of the production. At any rate, im nitpicking. it was very enjoyable to watch, good acting, shooting, and audio.

Do you feel you could have shot this with a gh2? I know it's night and day compared to a proper cinema cam, just curious as to what your thoughts are on this.

First thing I noticed was how proper everything was done. It's what you get out of film school as opposed to learning and doing on your own. I was impressed on how well the sound was done. The picture was well exposed and I don't think I've seen any clipping. Loved the creativity, the concept itself, as well as the shots and angles in the film that you've chosen. The idea had potential, and it seems like you've got a good knack of conjuring fun/creative ideas. The weakest link, if there was any, was in the story. You've started out with a strong concept, you just have to learn how to finish strong with it.

The sound is good yes, only around 03:12, the left lady is captured in the wireless mic of the right lady ?

03:55...Strange thing, confused...

In general it was nice to watch.

Yeah she is. Covered that scene mostly in a master and my boom up/sound mixer were a little sleepy I think

As for 3:55 that is in my opinion the best part of the whole movie!

yes, best part....maybe for you because you wrote the script so you know what's happening...

But I'm lost there...Is it something magical that happens ? A kinda "switch" or something ?

You have to explain me.... And because you have to explain it means it's not done "well"...

I re-watched it 64064643545341053445340340345345343404 times...

I think it's the SFX with it that confuses the most... It's like that you go from "film camera, objective view" to "subjective view"...But that's only a guess....

I'd agree, and this is what you usually find with film school films. Technically pretty stellar, script eh, not bad. I'd actually say this was better than most script wise.
FSU must have a pretty strong program, I have seen several films from their students at film fests I was at with my own films.

Yes, but do they understand it BEFORE or AFTER you explain it ?

Or I'm just stupid, that's also possible.... Well... there have to be stupid people :-p
