Hey guys! I've had my FS7 for a while now, but have been so swamped with events and wedding work that I haven't really taken it out to do anything for myself or just for fun. So after having a weekend all to myself, I decided I might as well go out and shoot something! There was about to be a big storm at a beach near me, so I filmed for about an hour and came up with the video below. Nothing special, but I like it and I'm proud of it haha.

I I tried making it seem home video-ish, while still having a "cinematic" image (or however you'd like to call it).

Shot it in CINE-EI mode, full 4K - down scaled in post to 1080, and SLOG2. Used James Millers DeLuts and tweaked them a bunch with the new Lumetri Color panel in Premiere. Also used FilmConvert for the grain.

Anyway, I hope you guys like it! Cheers!

From a finishing point of view something is causing quite a lot of posterisation in the vignettes particularly around the scene with the flag. Is that Vimeo's fault or in the compressed file you sent to Vimeo?

Hmm, I'll have to check the file that was exported and get back to you. This was exported via h.264, any alternatives to not have the posterization? Could it be the film convert + vignette that's causing it?

I'm afraid I don't have any experience of the software you are using, my first port of call would be to look at the file you exported out of Premiere. If it's in there then you will need to change your export settings and give it more cowbell. If it's vimeo there's not a lot you can do about it other than buy the most expensive account which provides better compression quality.

Gradients are one of the more challenging areas of an image to compress and if you are having issues with vignettes then avoiding them is also an option.
