Codec test: DVCPRO-HD vs. HDV

... David's test seems to find HDV better for 720p.... (19Mbit Gop against 40Mbit interframe)

... Is this true, can I buy the HD100 and not feel silly for not having waited for a better codec?

It does make sense that it would be better for all but the very worst case.
 
I must admit, from the DVCProHD footage I have, the 1080i60 stuff does look nicer than the 720p footage, but that 720p24 footage does look better than the JVC HD100 footage I have. Once the HVX200 comes out, we'll have a better idea if that's because of the codec or the camera though, or some mix of the two.
