Hey you guys,
maybe you can help me again. I plan to shoot a short this summer. I'm going to use the FX-1. I plan to shoot 1080i with a shutter speed of 1/50. I want to deinterlace it afterwards with Magic Bullet in After Effects. So far so good.
Now, I'm not going the way camera -> tape -> harddisc ... I wanna go Camera -> Harddisc through Firewire and the upcoming HDV version of DVRack. Now, my first question ist: Can I achive better quality by skiping tape and going directly through DVRack and the proper Codec to the harddisc? Is it possible to achive better quality or is the mpeg-codec added before the stream reaches the Firewire output? Now, I concidered using the Cineform Codec which shipps with Aspect HD.
The next step would be to cut the whole material in Premiere Pro 1.5 with the HDV-plug-in. Afterwards I plan to export the diferent Layers in a kind of A/B-Roll style with Quicktime as a reference material, so that I can add proper cinematic fades and transitions with magic bullet. Another advantage would be that I can color correct the uncompressed and unrendered video ... afterwards I want to output the final result again with the CineForm Codec for Sounddesign in Premiere Pro and from Premiere Pro to the different Formats such as mpeg2 for DVDs or whatsoever ... Is this the best way to go or is there an even better way?
Does anybody know how I can export a video as reference through quicktime because I didn't finde the option in premiere pro 1.5
I hope you can help me out here!
I'm pretty looking forward to your answeres and comments.
Take care,
