Codec of choice

OK, Quicktime 7 is a pain in the ass, even though h.264 is useful.

WMV is an annoying dead-end codec by Microsoft that is hard to convert to something else and re-edit (unless things have changed).

Real is anything but real.

Divx is pretty damn cool but everyone has to manually add the codec to the PC.

Which is your favorite?

I just got the new Macromedia Studio 8 which uses the VP6 codec for Flash. So far its very comparable to H.264 in terms of quality but actually uses a fraction less bandwidth. It may soon become my codec of choice for online work. For one thing, it compresses in a fraction of the time that H.264 does. Until I finish running through all of the tests I plan to run, I can't yet say definitively that its my favorite.
