codec mud or me?

Hey there.
i recently purchased a gh1 that is "fully functional" an i enjoy very much. however there is one thing that is bugging me and id like to ask someone out there if you could clarify what it is. it goes like this. you have to look quite closely to see
it happens in regular intervals. its like a pixelating heart beat ZIPS every second or so. goes to pixels an comes back but not on all my footage. its most noticeable when filming the sea. this is using a tripod and all settings on manual and creative movie. is it the codec? am i doing something wrong?
is this mud? something else comes to my mined... S**t
please enlighten me. much appreciated

It would be hard to say based on your description alone...it might be mud, might be aliasing. A sample would help to clarify
