COBRA II CRANE for Sale - CHEAP & in MINT Condition!
I have a Cobra II Crane for sale for $300. It's made by Promax and I bought it new about a year ago. It can extend to 10'+ and you can find out more details here: http://www.cobracrane.com/CobraCrane_II.html As you can see, it retails for over $600 new on B & H not including shipping, tax, etc.: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/568371-REG/CobraCrane_5034__211211_CobraCrane_II.html I'm selling it because I just bought the 'plus' version yesterday because I needed the extra height. There is nothing wrong with it whatsoever and as you can tell, I've liked it so much that I decided to get a higher model of the same crane. It has a few cosmetic scratches here and there from a year of use, but they do not affect its performance at all. You are welcome to bring your camera to test it out, and you will also need a tripod (I use the manfrotto-bogen 501 head) for it to work. I'm also selling the crane and all parts that go with it like the manual, wiring, screws, etc.
The crane is currently at UCLA (We're part of a production team located here) and you WILL need your own transportation to carry it if you indeed choose to buy it. Sorry I can't ship. It fits in my 4 door sedan but I have to put all the seats down. In a nutshell, this crane is perfect for those that need a mobile photo/video jib for cheap without spending a few thousand dollars for a Hollywood version. I have made GREAT productions with it. Check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wBK3z3CdW6k
These are the cameras I've used it with: Canon XHa1, Canon XLh1, Canon XL2, Xl1, XL-1s, DVX100b, dvx 100a, HVX200, JVC HD100, HD110, HD-200, Sony PD-170 and 150, EX-1/EX-3. I've never used a RED or 35 or 16mm arris though. Mostly prosumer SD or HDV cameras.
I don't mind trading for other production equipment such as a Glidecam smooth shooter or X-series vests, DIY dollies, DOF adapters, lenses, macbook pro or mac pro, etc. + cash from me. Unfortunately I can't meet up anywhere outside the general UCLA/Westwood/Santa Monica/Culver City area because the crane is located here. I have posted up some pictures of the crane on set in production and you can contact me if you need more high resolution ones. Thanks and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, and as I said earlier, you are definitely welcome to test it out before purchasing.
Please PM or e-mail me at admin@fps-productions.com Thank you.
