Co-Producer Needed For Independent Feature

Billy Pilgrim

Stye in my eye
Hey all, I just recently finished the third draft of a feature film script I've been working on for six months, which I intend to direct. I'm located in Bakersfield, CA, where the movie will be shot. If you're in the area (I'm defining it loosely here, but mainly just the southern CA area, I'm about a 90 minutes from LA) and need a co-producer who can help me raise funds, organize the shoot, etc. I have most locations arranged and most of the characters cast, but I need someone who's produced before who can help take the film to the next step. The film is a dialogue-driven, character-based comedy (with a little bit of drama) in the vein of "Kicking and Screaming" (The Baumbach film, not the Will Ferrel vehicle), "Stranger Than Paradise" and "Clerks". it will be my first feature, though I've made dozens of short films. I can email a PDF of the script.

Here's a brief synopsis:
A young slacker, Elliott, is kicked out of his house and dumped by his girlfriend after dropping out of college, and moves into a dumpy house with a couple old high school friends. An old girlfriend visits him, introducing him to a friend of hers, Christine, whom he becomes infatuated with. He drifts along in life, unsure and apathetic towards his future, and his relationship with Christine. The film is about doing whatever it takes to not face adulthood and to not make important decisions, while life, and the real world, come crashing down.
