CMP Filmtools follow focus

Hey Jim thanks for the clarification. I'm going to start another thread to answer questions that Darren put up on the unit. That way we can keep the name straight.

Steve

I have had the CPM follow focus now for about three months and have used it quite a bit.

The good:

Mostly aluminum solid construction
smooth focus

The bad:

Cannot flip the pitch gear which makes it difficult using the CPM Shooter Rig that I use with lens that are much shorter (or the focus ring is closer to the camera body) than the 28-135mm which I have (and plan on replacing)
The knurled gear retaining knob comes loose during use occasionally. Steve knows about this at CPM and now has some different screws.

I am already looking for a replacement just because I am purchasing some primes (30 and 50mm) and need a pitch gear that I can flip so that it will work with my CPM Shooter Rig.

Steve and his crew at CPM are great though and helped me through couple of other issues I had!
