Cloverfield Party Scenes

[Cuantos the Wrestler]

does anyone know (just for general knowledge purposes) what they shot the HVX200 party scenes in CLOVERFIELD? *guessing a 24p rate

1080/24p
1080/24pA
720/24pN

?

the question almost always comes in discussions (aka they wanted a reality feel while not losing too much on the big screen)

I would think they would have shot the party scenes in 60i for the reality crispness.

I believe they shot the vast majority on the Viper. I've seen BTS footage of the party with the Viper in use.

The used the HVX-200 in 30p mode and did effects in post to make it look however they wanted..

The BTS has a great deal of 24p/30p conversion nastiness. If you want to know why NOT to try to convert between those two, watch that.

Kinda cool, they have the actual HVX used in the movie at EVS Studios in Glendale, CA.
