Clouds

Just trying out my polarizer. (Hmm...I ask one little question in Hardware about polarizers, and thirty-leven others start asking questions. Buncha copycats. )

Anyway, this is the raw pic with a polarizer.

Decidedly blue, overall. So I CCed until I liked it better:

Not quite what I wanted, I'm just learning how to CC.

Anyone who doesn't think looking at clouds drifting by for 3 minutes is boring is welcome to click here for WMV of it.

Scene setting F5, default but with Cine V instead, shot through my livingroom window, and speeded up 4x.

 Yeah, playing with that, too.

As for the CC...I didn't really want the sky to be so "slate", but I couldnt manage to keep it blue blue without the clouds also being very blue. :(

I know...practice, practice, practice.

I was halfway to Frankfurt International, cruising up the Autobahn at 100 mph with the top down, looking at the pretty clouds...and it hit me...

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS white balance.

Those exceptionally blue clouds in the uncorrected capture are that way because I had the %^$#! thing still white balanced from some indoor tungsten work.

D'oh!
