Do you have the cam? I'm finding the 100mbps more than enough as a starting point when downrezzed to 1080 prores hd. We're talking about the same power as 4 GX7s at 1080p.

Someone with better technical knowledge on compression can chime in... but I don't think it's as simple as saying 4K is 4x the resolution of HD, therefore 100 mbps is equivalent to 25mbps in HD.
I've read that the more resolution you have, the more efficient a codec can be. So 100mbps @ 4K will be better than 25mbps @ HD, despite what the math might indicate.

With four times the pixels, you don't need four times the bitrate, but a bit less.
With twice the frame rate, you don't need twice the bitrate, but a bit less.
But in any case the main point is that the bitrate is just a minor factor: the most important part is how well the codec is implemented. And the C300 has a VERY nice implementation. I'd guess the GH4 is not bad in this respect either, but I haven't pixel-peeped with it yet.

Yes, it pi$$es all over it.
I've heard that in regards to the fs100 too but never had it explained exactly. Is it mostly the 4:2:2 in this case ?
