Clipwrap and joining spanned MTS files

hi,

i'm trying to understand the process of getting spanned files joined and transcoded for use in FCP.

so far, i think the best option to do both is Clipwrap...but now have a question.

if i shot one hour interview....i think it was done in a 2 30 minute takes (not one long continuous take) and
now have 18 MTS files.

if i upload all MTS files into Clipwrap and ask it to convert to Prores, does it automatically merge the mts
files and create 2 prores files? or do i have to upload just the MTS files for the first take, convert...and then
upload the MTS files for the next take and convert?

thanks for all help/suggestions.

if you still have the original card structure, just drop that on the clipwrap window and we'll automatically parse the span breaks and assemble the two takes into 2 movies for rewrap. If you just have the mts files, you'll need to look through them in the finder to find the span break (look at file sizes... all the spanned clips will have the same 2 or 4 gb filessize, until the final span of that clip) just find where the breaks occur and load each span by selecting file>open multiple as span... and choosing all the files in one span.

hi mike,

thanks for the reply...when you say drop original card structure, what exactly do you mean? i shot on a GH2 and there are there are multiple folders...should i drop a particular folder into Clipwrap?
