Clips of my new crane testing...

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

My dorm freshman year had those SAME couches... we stole them and put them in our rooms :)

I was thinking about getting one of those ebay Cranes too. Did you get the one with the pulley or the one thats a little more expensive? Im surprized it fit in doors, i never even thought of using it like that but the shoots looked good, nice and smooth. You should bring it outside and do some exterior shots with it, thats where you can really do some cool stuff. Id love to see some more footage from it.

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

The test works. Those are crane shots alright. How do you like it, Chas?

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

good shots! Very smooth... Gotta love the motion of a crane!

I've got one that my dad made for me, which works awesome. The only problem is it's weight. It's two 4 foot sections that connect. The bottom portion has a lot of weight to it as it's got a fine tuning counter weight built in, in addition to the weightlifting plates. But other than that, the crane shot just has that professional bigger budget look! How big is your crane? I'm thinking of building a small 3 - 5 ft crane for tighter spaces.

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

The crane works really well so far for me. It is 8 feet and breaks down in to two 4 foot pieces. I plan on bringing out tonight to shoot scenes for my short that I want to finish up soon. The counterweights are what makes the crane work, sooo smooth. I bought the one for 249.99, not the pulley one I think you're thinking of. This crane is very light, so light in fact that I leave the counterweights on at all times because that doesn't even make it too heavy to carry. Glad you thought the shots looked okay.

ChasBetts

Even im tryin to buy one such crane for my project. Would u mind sharing how much u paid for this?

The shots are smooth. Well controlled... But what's with the bald heads? HA

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

Same thing for me, But I think the one guy on ebay was quoting almost as much as the crane for shipping.....

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

Hey, Chas
Tried different search terms including "jib crane" but cannot find it. ebay has a variety of cranes going for roughly $289.00 usf. but they all charge extra for tripods, etc. also, none of them are named "kessler".

can you possibly post a link for the crane?

that was great footage you got and like otyhers, i'm gettin quite interested in that crane for the $$$.

thanks again,
earon

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

seacr using "camera crane" and you'll get about 10-15 jib cranes including the kessler ...

rock.

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

Did you buy any of the 'extras'
ADD $40 FOR FLAT BLACK HARD COAT FINISH

ADD $20 FOR OIL IMPREGNATED SLEEVE BUSHINGS ON PIVOT POINTS

ADD $75 FOR ALL BALL BEARING UPGRADE

And do you guys think that any of them do anything/ are worth it?

Re: Clips of my new crane testing...

Great looking footage. I am also looking at building or buying one of these...

Can the camera pan and tilt at the same time?
