Clip properties?

Hey all,

so I've had to open up an old project to make a few changes, and I can't remember where I've stored the Avid MediaFiles for it, so of course all my clips are offline on my timeline. Is there a way to see the properties of those clips to see where they're supposed to link to?

Thanks,
Jordan

All Avid media must reside in one of two folder structures (depending on the type of media).

If it's OMF media it would go in this folder structure at the root of your drive:

M:\OMFI MediaFiles\[media goes here]

If it's MXF, it goes here:

M:\Avid MediaFiles\MXF\1\[media]

Because all Avid media must live within these parameters there won't be information about where it resides. The best you'll get is that it used to be on the D: drive. You'll need to find the original MXF or OMF files and put them back into their respective folders, then Avid will automatically relink.

That said, go to your Bin headings option (right click in a bin, with nothing selected, and choose "Headings"). See if you can show the media filename. Then search your computer for that filename. If it finds it, you've found your backups.
