My good friend Will Roegge and myself had the opportunity to go to Pikes Peak and film Rhys Millen compete in the 2009 PPIHC (Pikes Peak International Hill Climb). I was a second camera operator to this project as my main duty while at the race was filming a behind the scenes documentary of the race itself.

The project was shot on a variety of cameras
1 Panasonic HPX170 (With a Letus Extreme)
1 Panasonic HMC150
1 Panasonic HVX200
1 Sony HXR-MC1 POV Camera
3 Sony Webbie HD cameras
2 GoPro Hero cameras
1 POV Lipstick camera (Can't remember the model)

Thank you for watching!

Very nice. Took me a minute to get used to the no-music approach, but it worked beautifully in the end. I imagine you had a crash cam for the ground HVX scenes? How did you achieve anamorphic on the range of cameras? Lens adapters or post?

Awesome editing.

Thanks! We actually had the sony webbies on the ground for all the ground shots. Had them buried up to the lens and then pointed it wherever we needed them to be.

The anamorphic aspect ratio was achieved in post. Image was just cropped at 2.35:1

Thanks again!
