I have had good luck with the western digital drives If you have to go best buy. If not I only deal with Lacie drives or G-tech.

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=9258885&type=product&id=1218070095789 these are cheap and I have a few of them and only have had 1 problem. One stopped working because my then 2 year old knocked it off of the desk.

WD MyBooks are pretty nifty as far as cheap externals go.

For client hand offs I prefer buss powered drives. No power supply. They are smaller if you need to ship and you wont get a call from the client saying, Uhhhh we lost the power supply.

I prefer these. Also clients love the dock. They feel real special.
