Clever idea for using domestic TV as monitor

Spotted this over on Cheesycam http://cheesycam.com/aputure-v-converter-pro-overlays-with-any-hdmi-monitor/ If it works properly, it could be a nice way to get proper monitoring on a domestic HDMI TV, or indeed turning your basic edit monitor into something more accurate.

Meh. No waveform monitor, no vectorscope, no rgb parade. Not going to be much help with color correction / grading.

That could be handy on-set for those of us on a budget. Would be really nice if they let you load up a LUT.

I stumbled upon the Aputure V-Converter device off a review of the company's (Aputure) VS-2 monitor. This is something i was trying to find. A device that can add helpful focus & exposure assists to any monitor. I wish it had waveform monitor. It seems the price has gone down or may just be on sale ($213 on Amazon or $185 from aliexpress.com a link from their site)
