Hi Andrew,

Just a quick price check, the BT-LH1700W is normally listed at 2699.99 (at B&H) and has $250.00 rebate on top of that. Is that your regular price or your clerance price?

Thanks,
Emre

"Clearance" on 32 GB P2 cards... Hmm...

I thought there was going to be some speculation. :)

There is nothing going on, just a lot of stock. So I thought we would bring some savings to the users. It's a win-win. :)

I'm not looking for a DVX100. I was just taken back a bit at the notion of a "clearance" price that is a couple hundred dollars higher than the regular price at B&H.

Then go buy one from B&H?

I'm sorry I could of purchased my HVX from B&H and saved a few bucks on paper but I gladly put my business towards Spec-Comm. Maybe it's just me but it's nice to support the small guys. The personalized and prompt service you receive would be hard to be tackled by one of the majors.

Agreed completely. I bought an HVX from Spec-Comm, and was incredibly satisfied.

Whenever people "politely" point out to a vendor that they think their prices are out of line, I can only assume one of two things:

1) The person thinks the vendor is stupid, and never bothered to check their competitors prices, and simply overpriced their goods because they randomly pulled a price out of a hat.

2) The person thinks the vendor is greedy and is trying to gouge their customers, because surely if (insert name of big box / major vendor here) can afford to sell something for X price, so can everyone else...

Last time I checked, stupid vendors don't stay in business long, and 99.995% of the time, vendors that are charging more than a much larger competitor are doing so because they don't buy as many of that product, and thus have a much higher cost than the larger vendor (or the larger one is selling under cost as a loss-leader).

Competition usually causes vendors to try to lower their prices to compete, not arbitrarily raise them.

If you want to negotiate, go to a pawn shop. If you want to buy from a good, quality vendor that will give you excellent service and support, then pay the price they ask.

I don't have any issue with a vendor making money, nor do I question the value of doing business with a quality vendor. (I sure wouldn't consider purchasing a new camera from a fly by night outfit.) It just struck me as odd to advertise a price as being a "clearance" price when other top notch vendors (B&H is hardly a fly by night vendor) have a lower regular price.

Thank you gentleman.

And yes, sometimes our price is a bit higher than B&H and the reason why is because we have higher overhead than them. We take A LOT of time on the phone supporting our clients with questions about how to use the equipment, what would be the best fit for them, etc and so on. But we love our jobs and we love a happy customer. It's great to hear from some them in this very thread! Thanks again!
