I have inherited a project at the last stages of post, for ProTools sweetening/mixing, and then output to DVD.
It was shot on a DVX-100a in 24p native (not advanced) but was captured and edited completely in 29.97 and there are nasty interlacing issues that I have never hit before. (Obviously only on the frames interlaced by the pull-down.) It's fine on my NTSC monitor playing straight out of FCP, but upon processing through Compressor and authoring in DVDSP, the problems begin.
I have searched the forums for two days and have not come up with anything that helps here. De-interlacing only makes the graphics look awful, and no setting on field dominance has helped at all. Is there anything that can be done at this point, or do we need to ditch all the media and recapture with pull-down (which will add more issues since the edit is on a 29.97 time line)? The deadline approaches...
Thanks in advance.
