Cleaning the outside surface?

This may have been addressed before- I searched and couldn't find it- but what would I use to clean the OUTSIDE of the DVX- like the lens hood, the outside of the tape door, the handle, around the zoom ring- without messing it up? Let's just say...it got accidentally unclean and I'd like to sanitize it just in case. What's a safe liquid/method to use? Thanks.

think u can just use a damp( with water) cloth. clearly not 2 damp...but its there somewhere in the manual. i;ve done it once already. used my brush first then the damp cloth. (wet the cloth and squeeze it out as much as it will allow)

OK, I don't want to get details, but let's say...if I wanted to SANITIZE it too...like think how you use windex or lysol...but something that would be safe for the camera surface. Is this not possible? Or can I use a damp cloth with some sort of cleaning solution?

use a damp cloth with something like hand sanitizer or buy a pack of those germ killing wipes. if you want to get rid of stuff like dust, then get a compressed air can

I have those wipes, but is it too harsh to use a cleaner like that? it doesn't have bleach, but it's still chemicals. Just don't to eat away at anything or get inside the focus/zoom rings.

i wouldnt press hard so the liquid seeps out, just wipe it nice and lightly. for the zoom and focus rings, i dont think you need to disinfect the inside, so again, very lightly wipe them and on the focus ring, you might want to wipe horrizontally with the ridges
