I have a UV lens on my 100B ....its needs cleaning and I dont have lens cleaner....is it ok to take the UV lens off and use mild soap and water to clean....obviously I wont be doing this to the camera lens just the UV lens

It's a UV 'filter'.

Yes, you can take it off the camera lens and clean it.

Don't bother with soap (unless it's really mucked up with goobers and stuff).

Best thing is to use your handy distilled water mist applicator (you have it with you all the time).
Apply a light coat of that, then wipe off from the center outward with a soft cotton material (your shirttail will work in a pinch- but 100% cotton is best).

Oh, that distilled water mist thing?
It's your breath.

Just breathe onto the filter and fog it up.
Then, wipe in the circular motion from center out.
Frequent turning of cloth material is a good idea.
Of course, cloth material should be CLEAN beforehand.

Find a micro fiber cloth and keep it handy for cleaning (it's the best thing to use, really).
