Cleaning A Dusty/Sandy HPX 170 Properly

i got some dust and sand in my zoom and focus rings.. whats the best way to clean them? without doing any damage or pushing the dirt further into the camera. I can't stand the grinding noise it makes! arg! it hurts my head!!!!!!

Stop turning the ring! The more you turn it with contaminated grease the more the plastic that the rings rub against gets worn out.

We have a special procedure that we do here at our Service Center to fix this. We also replace the grease with another kind of grease that will help the rings feel a bit smoother after the plastic has been roughed up.
