Clean Slate Productions Presents: JOHN ABBOTT MITCHELL

Wow...I thought this was great! The acting was solid, Davis Osborne was great.
The soundtrack was really good, you had some great shots. The final shot was perfect.
I missed the suggestive clues indicating his tongue had been cut out.
I'll gladly watch it again anyway, maybe I just wasn't paying close enough attention.
Great work!

Where's my plane ticket to Hollywierd.....Sliker?...I just may have to walk you down the RED Carpet in My Garage.........)

well, the carpet was a nice beige ... until you got ahold of it. Now it's a deep red. I need like Oxyclean or somethin' to get all this blood out.

now there's an idea! I'll clear it with Marie, maybe I'll put together a little shindig.

oh, and they asked us to promote the screening/webcast, hence the horrendously large signature.

alright hopefully we're all set and uploaded. Not much to different in the 6:30 cut, I did switch out one shot, but y'all just have to wait for friday to find out which one it is.

lol, davis, it's there, we're just awaiting confirmation ... man this feels like the first time we uploaded!

Oh ... and i just realized that those screening times are probably on the west coast ... so for us ... the webcast would be from 9 to 1 AM!!!

(i guess it's better than stalking barry green's progression at DVXuser at 3 am wondering when he'll post the All Hallows Results! lol.)

Yeah, Ben, I can't get it from Luis until he gets home tonight. Right now, he's out with Mark and Tim.

we're all uploaded and ready. I find out about AOF fest on friday and the screening is on friday too, it's a big day!

Davis, when you wanna get together and talk John?

friday.............congrats on taking it to another level).....weird is why I got the part....?.....and Wonderfully Made)))

Ok, first off, this film looked beautiful. Of course, I expected as much after your last entry. Mr. Osborne, you are too damn cool. I absolutely love actors who can act with their eyes and their face, if you know what I mean. Just terrific.

The only thing that doesn't work for me is the VO. Especially during the opening sequence with the gal on the bench. Davis is just brilliant, the awkwardness of the whole thing that happens when the woman sits down, the whole domestic quarrel... I feel the VO TELLS when you are already SHOWING SO MUCH. I watched it again with the sound turned off: absolutely ****ing brilliant. And it makes Davis's character so much more terrifying because we then we don't hear what's going on in his head.

Ditto on the final shot. Again, fantastic.

Anyway, just my thoughts. A great film, nevertheless. Congrats! Definitely in my own top 8!

Cheers!

John,

I definitely considered going with less VO in the beginning. Or even none at all. I would say the VO that is in JAM was tailored to actually make us qualify as a Timefest movie.

I personally could watch Davis and his creepy looks all day (and during editing ... i have), but there were also concerns about it getting a little stale for a larger audience.

I mean ... seriously ... every time i think i've got this thing down for a director's cut ... someone goes and blows my mind with an entirely different idea about the cut. Now that I don't have timefest restrictions anymore ... I'll seriously consider taking it out.

Thanks for the watch and the review! STOP BLOWING MY MIND. :zombie_smiley: :)

Ben
