From another forum a year or two ago...someone says if you set the AF to "
Live mode " in live view, the 1DX will send clean HDMI out. Does anyone have any experience to verify that? I don't, even though I have a new BM 5" video assist/recorder.
If it's true, the video assist/recorder will definitely be worth it's weight to record onto for max data capture, instead of just using it as a "video assist." The BM recorder will do 10-bit 4:2:2 ProRes or DNxHD.
So, what would clean HDMI out be, anyway? 8-bit 4:2:2?
