as far as my little experience concerns, i have been shooting a small band plying live in a cafebar. I was using an M-Audio Microtrack II digital audio recorder with a stereo mic. The difference of audio quality captured by the 100b's builtin mics and the audio recorder was astonnishing. I was using this setup because as it was music, it was important to capture the sound with good quality. The sound captured from the dvx100b's was almost unusable, i was using it as reference sound to adjust and sync the audio i recorded with that separate device. I recomend you check for some wireless microphone system , to capture sound and speech in a decent way. I may add, the builtin mics on the 100b's are pretty obselete and they are there just to have some "sound", there isnt that much you can do with it though.
