I am not sure about DSLR...

...But today's AVCHD camcorders cannot shoot videos on SD card due to very slow DataRate.
For HMC, you need at least SDHC class 2 for Lower modes, and class 4 for higher modes.

Interesting. SDHC Class 6 is 6MB/s or faster - which is only 40x, yet the SD cards are 150x.
