Clarifying the "a"

Hello,
I'm in the process of buying my own dvx.
I'm buying it used because I don't have the money for the camera and ana lens, accessories...and so on, you know...

I've noticed that the prices for the dvx100 are significantly better than for the 100a.
But I only have experience with the 100a. I've shot a lot ( for me, at least ) with it and feel really comfortable with it. I am not as knowledgeable as some of you here are, and cannot distinguish the minute details of the mechanism and those stuff. But I'm going to learn! Especially when I put my hands on my own Diva ( that's how I'll name her ). But I'm losing my point, my question is:

What are the main differences between the 2 generations?

If someone still has the patience to explain this, for the ( maybe more ) 1000th time, I'll appreciate a lot.

Jan,
could you try this:

code link is [ url]  link [ /url] without the space infront of the u and /

it might work,
thanks.

Re: Clarifying the "a"

There are 26 differences, some of them very minor but some quite significant. The most significant ones include: much shorter minimum focus distance, better manual zoom "feel", better manual focus "feel", viewfinder "peaking", audio now in perfect sync with video when in 24P mode, and nicer color rendition due to 12-bit DSP instead of 10-bit and changes to the prism.

Re: Clarifying the "a"

What is this viewefinder 'peeking'? I know about the EVF DTL button when in recording mode, but other than the EVF appearing sharper, I cannot really tell a difference. Especially when I want to use it for precise focusing, because DOF is so great, it actually seems to make focusing more difficult.

I was hoping I could 'zoom in' on an area in the EVF (i.e., use all the pixels from the CCD to show in the display).

Barry, can you elaborate?

Thanks
