Citidisk HDV DTE Recorder. No one talks about this one...

[Nathyn]

I went to a company called Shining Technologies and they're offering this: http://www.shining.com/products/totalsolution/citidisk_hdv/ so I wanted to know what was up. The thing sounds like it's off the chain. The price is right too, just under a G. So it this a good buy or not?

Depends on if it works or not. The CitiDisk DV had its share of problems, and CitiDisk makes the MCE Quickstream -- do a search and you'll find plenty of references to reliability issues.

I hope they come up with a great product, but I would certainly caution anyone considering purchasing that they would probably be best served to wait several months to see how the reliability reports come in.

That's not good. Oh well, I guess it's the FS-4 all the way. I'd seen some good reviews on it but no real world stuff.
