Just a sneak peak at our new ZEN-CAGE with some additional components which will also be available soon. This cineZEN ZEN-CAGE from cineZEN USA (picture 1)is coming soon. We expect this to be available at the end of 2011. Anyone interested email us at info@cinezenusa.com and we'll add you to the list. The ZEN CAGE will feature a patent pending design and configuration, and include stainless steal 1/4 20 insert threaded holes. The design flows around the body of the 5D system and works with any CANON DSLR. Price point expected to be in the low $300 range (of course this depends on production schedule, features, etc).

Looks really nice. Will this put the 15mm rods at the right height from lens center of a 5d for use with matteboxes without adjustable height?

Absolutely. In fact, the design has since changed and will be posted as soon as we receive our provisional patent paperwork back this week. The new design incorporates a slotted allen key option under the baseplate so you can move the camera from side to side as some models change lens position assuring exact mid lens position over the rails for various body cameras. We think we have thought of everything with the new design. We have since redesigned a newer system. The new system is much more tactical. it incorporates a NATO rail component, moveable side arms and a better look.

The side rails now have 3/8 16 as well as 1/4 20 array cheese plate options and the arms are independently removable and movable which offers the ability to have a full cage setup using cameras like the 60D with swing out LCD in full position. We are very excited so keep your eyes peeled. Thanks again.

BTW, we will be offering a preorder option for ordering at almost 50% of the purchase price once in stock. We have been machining prototypes and will be manufacturing short runs of our own gear.
