Cinevate's MP.2 35mm adapter is here!

The MP.2 version of the Brevis35 will start shipping this week. We put together a little launch video using 100% in-house talent :-)

The flash version will stream from the front page of our site, or you can download this iPod friendly H264 encode:

The MP.2 adds to the feature set of the MP.1 which has been shipping for over a year now:

1. Full micro-processor management for both oscillation, power management and shutdown.
1. Micro-collimation for both SLR and Cinema Lenses
2. Industry leading light efficiency with 8 options for interchangeable optics.
3. Improved dust sealing
4. Increased (30 hour runtime) on a 15 minute charge.
5. New modular motors which are field replaceable...and a spare is provided for emergencies.
6. Updated firmware which improves performance as the onboard power cells drain.
7. Low power warning, and automatic shutdown if you forget to turn the unit off.
8. Onboard auto-resetting surge protection.

These features were all implemented as we continually work to enhance reliability and performance. The price remains unchanged, and the remaining MP.1 units (there's only a few left) will be discounted 10% until they're sold. As always, the MP.2 is 100% retrograde friendly and the MP.1 upgrade program will become the MP.2 upgrade program should any of our customers wish to update their units to the latest spec.

See you at NAB09, C8742. The booth will be a very worthwhile visit with at least 5 brand new products destined to change the way you shoot.

Cheers,
Dennis Wood

Dennis,
According the bombastic teaser it must be a wanna have.
What about a Contax/Zeiss mount?
Greets, Arno

So far on the Contax side, most folks are using a contax to EOS adapter on our EOS mount.

That said, some very cool news from Zeiss which I've been sworn to secrecy on: www.zeiss.com Cinevate will be one of a very select few in the world to have one the "?'s" on display and available for hands-on experimentation :-) Booth C8742.

Dennis,

What happened to the new grips? I thought you posted recently that the improved grips were being added to the catalog, but I haven't seen it on the site.

The grips are done and in inventory. The problem right now is that with NAB preparations and new product launch preperations (5 of them), the pics haven't been done. I'll likely just post an entry without a pic later tonight.

I can confirm also as of today that the MP.2 will show up at NAB with a world-exclusive debut of a very, very, very cool tidbit from our friends at Zeiss :-)

Call us...we'll fix you up :-) We'll need you to measure the diameter of the grip studs (round "peg" protroding from top of the grip) for us.

Cheers,
Dennis.

Thanks for the share before NAB Dennis (I couldn't wait that long)

Now I have question,
are there any static GG you are releasing? (with in the 8 choices we have)

because I remember you responding to a post positively, when someone asked for a static GG that loses less then 0.5 of light.

What I'll confirm is that the drop-in CINEFUSE program is by no means over, and that we're expecting several new options by summer. If you look at where we're going with the B4 relay, and the crop of new cameras coming for the 2/3" format at 1920x1080 4:4:4, then you'll get an idea of what's coming :-)

Charles, thanks for your comment :-) For those of you who don't know who Charles is, you can check out his animation work right now at www.eventdv.net Check the video that's playing right now. The animation leads up to an overview of shooting video with the Canon 5D MkII done by the folks over at Stillmotion.ca

Cheers
Dennis.

Charles that kit is straight out of our Proteus catalog:

1. 45 cm Proteus rails.
2. Proteus Grips.
3. Proteus Cage.

That same setup can be used by 100% of our adapter users (or other adapter users) interchangeably without swapping a single part in tripod or shoulder mount mode. You'll see the next extension of the Proteus rails debuted at NAB. There'll be no sneak peaks on that one before April 20th unless our patent lawyer gives us the green light.

And just in case you're planning on building a tele-prompter...the 1 metre Proteus setup works perfectly with an HPX500 to fully support the camera, tablet and mirror. More on that later :-)

A few updates:

First, we just figured out that the MP.2 online order options were missing so that got fixed up today and we added a drop-down option for step rings. Our one-piece 37-72 will get added later this month. For those that were frustrated by the ordering with the missing options....apologies.

Second, the MP.1 units remaining (just a few left) have been reduced in price and will remain up until they're gone.

Finally, the Cinevate cube van left for Las Vegas Sunday morning, survived US customs and is on it's way to you NAB folks with our 400 sq/ft of fun, six new products and 2 patents pending :-) For those not making NAB you'll have plenty of information compliments of Stillmotion's daily blog (likely with video) and FreshDV's coverage.

If all goes as planned, we'll have it at NAB on our HPX500 coupled with the Zeiss world debut item(s) that we're not allowed to talk about until NAB monday. One thing that we haven't mentioned anywhere until now is that the B4 adapter you'll see at NAB is nearly 1 inch shorter than the one in our video at Cinevate :-) We've been busy.

Focusing on that rig will be handled by another world debut product from Cinevate that we've been very, very quiet about...and it's not our Durus follow focus.
