Cinevate Flip - First units shipped!

It's been an incredible 1 1/2 years since Cinevate's inception. We've learned a lot and in keeping with our goal of being a world class business to deal with, we're moving. On top of adding two highly qualified staff, our CNC shop has seen an increase in capacity of 25%. The new digs are designed to be a comfortable, bright place to work with natural lighting complemented by a view of our chilly Lake Superior. A small studio, dedicated Skype/Video support installation, HD over LAN + 42" 1080P panel and VOIP communications system provide a great set of tools for efficient support, prototyping, and instant viewing of footage uploaded to our FTP site.

There will be a 1 day interruption in our shipping, but otherwise there will be no apparent change for our customers...just better service. Orders will continue to average 3 business days to their destination worldwide.

As always, thanks to the DVXuser community for your kind support :-)

Congrats Dennis, that's great news for you, your staff (including your dad! (c8), and your customers.

Cheers!

Thanks T :-) It's going to be an incredibly busy month as there's still a great deal of work to do in the space ... and we'll be doing it while keeping up with orders.

Tnank you dennis for providing a great set of tools and support.
The tools you created for us are just beautiful.

Please accept my heartiest congratulations and best
wishes for your continued success.

Congrats Dennis! I like the subject header on this thread better :) You caught me on that other thread.

Another big leap for you! Taking Cinevate full time did much for your company..... and its customers. I'm sure this will make things even better. Oh, and btw, I just ordered some rails and MC upgrade yesterday, and fedex tells me they will arrive today. So yeah, you guys are definitely on top of things amidst all the changes. Thanks.

Thanks guys. Mike, throwing caution to the winds and deciding to commit 100% to the project was indeed a turning point. We're just getting started, and with the "housekeeping" nearly taken care, the next series of products can make their way into the collection with proper support.

Aram, you, the beta group, and all of our customers who waited so patiently for the first adapters hold a very special place here.

Phil, we'll be having our official opening in 2-3 weeks and this is an open invitation to you and the rest of the film community to stop in for the obligatory wine and cheese :-) It'll be announced on our website main page.

Jason...good idea!

Hey Dennis, you probably remember me from asking you an ass load of questions and never buying...yet ;)
Anyways I work at Vistek in Toronto and I've been hyping up the Brevis to guys here and they're interested in possibly carrying it, we get tons of questions everyday about 35mm adapters and I always refer them to your site, maybe we can setup something a little better like how the letus guys also work with B&H. We're talking to our purchasers and someone might be contacting you in the near future.

Eck, we're always open to new ideas. The fact that we were part of the Canon Pro Expo, and Vistek is an authorized Canon distributor has come up in conversation :-) Speaking of Canon, our little Brevis was used in stillmotion.ca's footage...which is featured in a Canon national ad campaign: http://stillmotionblog.com/?p=258

This footage also won Patrick and the crew at stillmotion.ca a WEVA award. We've got 5 more clips from this very talented team coming online at the Cinevate site this week.

We're getting very comfortable in the new space with another pile of materials coming in this weekend for further construction. One of our new guys, Nik figured out espresso, and I finally figured out cappuccino today on the rather complicated machine ... so we're nearly ready for inspection.

If anyone is wondering if this means that an ordered brevis will be delayed - I am here to tell you second hand ? that Kaku ordered one last week that has already arrived in japan. Which I will be using and I guess demoing (not for brevis sales) but for film look capability next week at interbee. And again I will be sure to shoot those nice girls at the pana booth.

And on that note we are going to do a direct 2 x HPX side by side one with brevis one with m2, I just need to get my m2 upto speed.

Hey, thanks Noel,
I tried with all of my cams, HPX, HVX and HV20, and HVX was the best matching.
HPX with Fujinon won't work, I could not make it focus right. I guess we need the relay lens. What are the requirements to make one anyway?

Couldn't get to shoot it upside down, so the flip unit would be a big help.

Congratulations Dennis.
While I think the product is truly fantastic, as a Cinevate customer I would advice to work on the Support department of the business. I found myself either getting no responses for weeks or being redirected to outside links and having to figure out many things on my own.

C.
