Cinetactics issues

i've seen many people on this board talk about vignetting with the Cinetactics mattebox, I've thought that maybe this was an issue with some but untill ive recieved mineI did not understand the same would go with me. How has everyone fixed this issue, I've looked at other threads for this issue but no answers. one thing though rest assured, the camera looks much more proffessional with it, im not sure i want to sacrifice wide angle for aesthetics.

chrosziel is how i fixed my problem.

if you have the anamorphic then 411-53pk

if you don't have anamorphic 410-01

i have both and they are great!

Re: Cinetactics issues

Can you explain when you see the vignetting? If you see it when you put on the the flag or the oversized flag, put the flag on a little further back until or tilted just a way to avoid vignetting.

Re: Cinetactics issues

The vingetting can be solved by buying a thinner ring that attaches to you lens...check out Cinetactics site...

Re: Cinetactics issues

i loved my cinetactics until i looked at footage that was showing the matte on the corners because it had moved.

i had this wonderful interview that couldn't be recreated and the matte box had shifted.

it was one of those things that you couldn't see in the viewfinders and it was run and gun doc stuff where i couldn't bring any sort of field monitor, not even dv rack.

if they could solve that it would be a good deal, although the formatt is very close in price and it is the best bang for the buck out there.

i love my chrosziel stuff but the formatt was a tremendous bargain.
