Cineporter CP-2 for DVCPro-HD and DVCPRO 50

Any thoughts on this Cineporter CP-2. Apparently it is a true P2 device. A card that is inserted into the P2 slot connects to a shock mounted hard drive that is battery driven. The card acts as an interface to the HD and it looks like it will have capacities up to 240GB.

As far as the camera is concerned it is a big P2 card. This could be a good answer to P2 recording times. If you need to only shoot a few minutes then use the P2 cards.

So if you had this and 5 4GB cards then you should be covered for a variety of situations.

There is a thread somewhere on here wiht alot of information on the CinePorter.
Personally, after having shot on P2 cards with the HVX, I think the Cineporter will probably be a much more attractive solution than the FireStore.

Once you see how nice and easy P2 is to work with, you won't want to give all those perks up by taking the FireWire stream to hard drive.

Try the search function - I just did a quick search for 'Cineporter'
