Cinemek's Hitchcock Storyboard Composer for iPhone

Any thoughts on making the export into some other format, that can be manipulated later on the desktop?
M

Mark,
We are working on a meta data export (lots of fun stuff can be done with that) as well as a desktop version for Hitchcock.

. . . There is a much bigger user base of Android and Pre filmmakers than one would imagine. I would love to provide support for these platforms once the iPhone build is paid off and we are making some money to throw towards support.

I like the sound of that, Houser. Please make this a reality in the not-too-distant future. I would gladly pay $20 for an app like this, in fact, I think it's a bargain! Oh, and count me in as a Hitchcock Android beta tester.

Also, I sent you an email about something "important." Yell back at me when you get a minute, eh? :)

Awesome program. I'm using it already with good results. Meta data exports and a desktop companion of the program sounds very exciting. Consider me on-board.

What happens to the photos we take through Hitchcock's interface? I noticed it does not go into iPhone's photo directory. Is there any way to save those photos out individually?

Thanks,
As for the image storage, this actually was a conversation a few months ago. So the images are currently packaged in a .hitchcock file which will be accessible at a later date. That file neatly contains all the data within your saved storyboards. We chose to keep the images out of the photo library to keep things clean. We may give an option in the next releases to "save to library". Just to give the user the choice.

Really cool app! I've already used it on two scouts and it really streamlines from having to manipulate the usual Nikon photos back at the office.

I'm curious, did you license Hitchcock's name? His estate (Hitchcock Trust) is pretty diligent about infringement and enforecement of his likeness as is Universal Pictures, the owner of The Birds

Anyway, thanks again for putting this app out there!

What about an option to choose an existing image from the photo library in addition to taking an image specifically for Hitchcock? That would make it similar to the Facebook app and some of the image editing apps like Photogene.

Great, I'm glad you are finding it useful.

No licencing. "Hitchcock" alone was abandon in 1992 by the Estate. A company called Aldus picked it up in 1995 later bought by Adobe. Now it's a Dead TM.

Alfred HitchcockTM Alfred Hitchcock PresentsTM "The Birds" Hitchcock's silhouette. Those are all things which are rightfully protected by the Trust.

Extensive USPTO search plus a fair amount of council led us to be ok with it.

That's how it is set up now. If you want your image to be in the Library, you can just take pics with your camera app, then import. The other way it stays within the Hitchcock app.

I am sorry but $20 is a steal for a composer on the go, I always dreamed of something like this
best app for filmmakers by far.

kudos
unix.

I took the plunge. Like it alot. Just with my iPod had a camera. That would make it so much better.

Josh,
Glad to hear you like it. Yea there are rumors as to why they omitted the camera from this round of Touch's, I do think there will be a Touch with a camera in it sooner or later.

Yeah to me it just seems a pure marketing move. So I was a wee miffed. But I still have a perfectly good iPod that I can sell when the time does come. Oh well.

JHouser:

Will future updates/improvements be free, or cost money? The app looks great, and really useful. Although I don't need it right now, I will at some point in the future. So should I wait until that moment comes, or buy now knowing that updates come free?
