Cinematography Demo Reel

Nice work Daniel. I liked a lot of the shots. If your looking for some criticism I'd say you have a tenancy in a few of the shots to have some "too dark" spots. ie the woman walking out onto the balcony.

I really liked the opening shot in the rain (although def. not rain, too heavy) very good lighting. Overall I'd say it's effective. I'd hire you.
 
Really good work. The really fast shot of the girl running around 1:57 seemed almost like a throwaway. I'd either cut it or make it longer, but since it's one of the weaker looking shots, especially the way it's CC'ed, I'd just cut it.

Great stuff though. Lots of beautiful shots. The first half of the reel is especially strong.
 
Blows away anything I could do. Nice job!

I'm not a big fan of the party scenes. The first two party clips don't seem to fit into the reel. They stand out from all the rest but not in a good way. They look more like home movie footage to me. The disco ball was nice though.

I could be wrong here but I think you need to shorten it a bit, probably to about 90 seconds. It would also make your reel a bit tighter if you removed some of the static girl shots toward the beginning, the girl on the balcony (don't think it adds any value to your reel), and perhaps the girl running from the guys.

Agree with Z Block. Several scenes were too dark.

Looks reel good, man (pun intended)!
 
Ah...missed Jason's comments before mine were posted. Looks like we agree on the running girl shot. It's gotta go!

I agree about the running shot,I dont even know why I put it in there?
must of been filler?

I kind of thought I had 2 many party shots?
but you really think that footage looks like a home movie?
I'll probably cut down on some of the party shots then

Also Im actually quite happy with the length
your right shorter is better, but my last few reels have been over 4 minutes long
this one is 2.30 seconds
so for me that is really short, but maybe for my next reel I'll try my best to get it under 2 minutes
