Cinematic type shorts on Vimeo

I was recently bouncing around vimeo and came across this short.

Absolutely love the story, way it was shot, colors, etc

I've watched it numerous times, kinda trying to study the way it was shot, lighting, angles etc etc. I don't really know how to describe it......art house?
but I'm wondering if anyone has seen any other films that are similar to this? I haven't been too sucessful in finding others like it on vimeo.

links? to any others?

Thanks Andy. Watched your flick and liked it a lot. But the short I referenced was more what I was looking to find more of. I liked the way that everything was soo vauge. after watching you almost had more questions than answers. Kinda like "LOST" (which I also liked)
If it didn't have the text at the beginning you probably wouldn't be able to figure out what was going on. What's that cloth thingy....what's the thing she found on the beach? I guess I just thought it was soo outside the box that I was interested.

I (as probably most) don't watch internet shorts more than once or twice, but I watched it numerous times and still find it fasinating for some reason......haven't figured out why yet.....

Does anyone have an idea what's happening in OUTSIDE, the video the OP posted? Beautifully shot, but way over my head apparently!

same here. i watched it once and got nothing. But you know like some films you can know if you watch it again you'll figure it out....this aint one, well for me that is. Looks good though :)

I don't know if mines are that great, but I've won with each entry in a contest on another forum.
Here's the vimeo album with the 5 videos. Some have been shot using a static 35mm adapter, another with a spinning one and the last one with a T2i.
In the reviews, on some of the videos, the reviewers said that the cinematography was really well done. Not to sound arrogant, but if that's what you're after...

Some of the shorts from the Philips movie competition were quite cinematic. I was amazed how well a story could be told in such a short period of time and at the same time look appealing.

It sets a great mood cinematographically, but it falls short on the drama, not much dramatic content there.

Here are a few that are on my likes list!
