Cinema Lightmeter

I like those but why not just use the marker feature in the camera.. .its basically a spot meter and works very well...

But for what it's worth.. the Sekonic Meters were the ones I liked the most because of their foot candle readings and that's kind of a more logical way to use a meter.. as it gives you easy to understand ratios.. 60 footcandles here... vs. 30 here and such.. BUT.

overall I've never seen the use for a meter if I'm not shooting film. The one on the Panny works really well. I would probably say to invest in some other stuff like a gaffer's glass or whatever it's called that shows you highlights on the scene and allows you to look into lights and make sure the throw is landing where you want and such..

Either way.. if you do decide to get a one.. I'd say to search and find a used one. The other style.. forgot the name is cheaper, but it's not quite a pro... IMHO.

I think Barry was saying that.. It's so much better than any other camera I've ever owned. Kicks the pants off the original HVX....

So why did you change your original post?

Lightmeter

I originally wanted to ask everyone on their opinion on a good, budget lightmeter to purchase. I like the Sekonics but they are quite expensive IMO. I wanted to use them to to make sure that light matches talents faces in same scenes although there was a lighting change due to shooting out a different actors scene in the same room. Basically just to keep good lighting continuity when its needed. What do you all think?
