Cinegamma DVC30 identical to DVX100?

I have searched extensively on this and the main discussion is about 24p which is not my concern.

Cinegamma on the DVC30, is it the same set feature as on DVX100?
Do AG-DVC30 user's have the same control over gamma adjustments as on DVX100?

Hope its no gimmick gamma compared to DVX?

thanking kindly for any light on the topic.

i'm not able to answer your question here, i just want to make you notice that even in 30p that camera doesn't deliver a real progressive, but, even though panasonic claims is a 'near progressive quality', it still performs some field interpolation. NOT real progressive.

hi Beuardo, thanks for helpin out.

Im not realy worried about the "progressive" since I'll be getting the pal version and shooting in 50i so 25p de-interlacing will be left to post which will also help with smoother pan's if not mistaken.

hay Beluardo! checked out your website.. is all that done on the DVX beast???

i shoot PAL too (only PAL users write in the forum at this time of the day :) )
I was looking at that cam 3 months ago. i liked it for my documentary project cause it's small and less 'invasive' than dvx100. but then i realized the progressive is not real and there's no balanced audio input!
so i spent more and went for the dvx100A.

obviously you are aware that deinterlacing in post will affect the quality of your footage!
i did it with my older small cam to give it filmic look but impacts the definition a lot.

No, just 'hummus hotel' is shot with the dvx. all the other stuff is done with a low end panasonic ds-28. which is still not a bad cam i gotta say! at least from the video quality point of view.

that one was not obvious till recently did a bit more research to discover that, thanks for pointing that out.

the more i research, the more i come to find out there are cheaper possible ways to acheive DVX quality.., then i do some more research to find out the DVX is the ceapest possible way to acheive quality filmlike looks..

yes i get it now, (and that had to come from doing (partly) owns research),,, i have seen the light, and that is transmitted through the 3ccds found in DVX.

Im going to buy a cheap panasonic for now (NV-GS25) for now, (because i cant wait) so i may better learn, while saving up for the beast.
that looks like my only resolution.

thanks for helpin out Beluardo. :cheesy:
