GH2 cieco7 Canon FD to M43 Adapter not locking

Are you carefully following the 2-step locking procedure? That caused me some confusion at first. Basically, you have to first hold the adapter against the lense, lining up the red dots, then rotate the adapter so the little metal tab inside the adapter pulls the release lever on the back of the lense open, then you push the adapter down into the lense and then rotate it back the other direction until it locks in place.

If you are doing that correctly and it still isn't working, then I'm afraid I cant' help you. I have 2 Canon FD lenses and my Ceico7 adapter works great with both....

Any ideas on how I can fix this or am I just doing it wrong?

Without knowing what you are doing it's hard to tell what it is you are doing wrong. And I suspect that is what is happening, because I have many cieco7 adapters and they all work perfectly. If it's any consolation, I still have issues trying to get the lens on the adapter if I've removed it. That is why I have a dedicated adapter that stays on the lens.

Keep trying and you will eventually get it, unless there is something wrong with your lens.

There is a knack to getting those things on. I couldn't work out why my adapter wasn't fitting, until I realised there is a tiny pin on the inside of the back of the lens that's linked to the iris.
It prevents the adapter from fitting all the way into the locking ring, so you can't rotate it.

Set the iris to manual, then make sure the stop-down lever is pushed toward the tiny pin (anti-clockwise looking through the back of the lens.) You can use the two-red-dots technique that trickhog mentioned to do this, or just click-lock the lever with your finger before fitting the adapter.
Does this work for you?

BTW, the Tamron Adaptall-2 FD setups are different, the tiny pin is the same but the stop-down lever is a different design, and doesn't "click."
