any samples/feedback yet regarding the hvx's relative prowess in chromakeying? everyone has always said the 4.2.2. sampling should provide a good key. any experiences?

¡Guapo!...are you hispanic?!...brianluce...that's why all that anti-french connection?

<PS> Or your native language is the same @my own? :)

si, pero no soy de espana. soy de philippines. me gustan los frogs. las chicas estan muy guapa. alora, quien tiene chromakey sample? puedo ver? por favor? da mi uno breako.

The 1920x1080 ntsc image is actually 1280x1080 and has 640x1080 pixels available for keying.

A dv ntsc image, for comparison, is 720x480 and has 180x480 pixels available for keying.

So, at 1080p you have 3.55x the horizontal resolution and 2.25x the vertical resolution for keying compared to dvx100. Thin vertical objects will look much better.

The 1280x720 image is 960x720 and has 480x720 pixels available for keying.

So, at 720p mode you have 2.66x the horizontal and 1.5x the vertical keying resolution compared to dv.

An extra advantage is that the two chroma differences are cosited in DVCproHD 4:2:2. On dv 4:1:1 they are not.

Xeno:

That's the second post I've read of yours, and they're both well written and crammed with useful info.

You are indeed an encyclopaedia on legs!

I look forward to reading more of your stuff.
