Hello,

a couple questions about shooting blue-screen, using the dvx:

1-Can I shoot some other tone of blue, different from the bg, or should every kind of blue be avoided? Any way I can find out in advance? What about black? Jeans?

2-Stripes and the dvx: am I gonna get weird video artifacts if I shoot a shirt with stripes, not blue?

Thanks,
Thomas.

The bigger the difference of BG to FG (foreground) the easier it will be to pull a key.
Black should be fine but be aware of any bounce from the blue that causes the black pants to look blue (keep as far from screen as reasonable)
Best bet is to shoot a short test with different materials

Stripes and checkerboard patterns can cause problems with any video. Especially true if the size in frame makes them close to the size of the video lines. Once again best bet is to do a simple test.

Betterr to test not than to be in the middle of a production.
