hi guys, i have no issue chroma keying a person and put him in front of the layer and make that layer the background..but,how about if i want that layer (or track under the chroma keyed person )to be the main and the chroma keyed person be part of its background...an example would be, im looking to have a chroma keyed person to be seen as if he is inside of a jail room, i got a nice pic of the jail room from the outside, looking into the inside of the room, and i need that person to seem as if he is inside, i can find a way to do this, the closest i came was after chroma keying the person i set that track to "screen" ,he was inside, but he looked like a "ghost", meaning i can see thru him, any tips ?thank you

you know what guys..i just thought about what i posted and wrote, sorry, i think that was dumb of me to ask, as i dont see how that is possible to do ..my bad..

My first post, I hope I'm not drowning!

If you have a pic of the jail, - can't you capture the areas between bars (I assume a still pic, pardon me). This should be easy in photoshop. although I use PSP, the principle is the same.

Now, against a green-screen, you do yr piece, which is Edited "over" the picture, although the bar-spaces will not record, but your moving image will. Then you take the inverted still image (we want those bars ), and erase the background to transparent. On another video track, you place the still using the motion FX to shift it a bit if really needed, some feathering of the "bars" will give them "Out Of Focus" look.
I recall you can't use .jpeg for transparent image backgrounds, as needed here; but maybe .png will, DYOR.

Now, go and shoot it.

ohhh..ok.ok..basically masking..that was great help from you..wish the next versions of vegas include better masking tools and motion tracking tools..thanks again
