With the info provided in the BBC white paper it seems the number of pixels in the F3 is slightly lower at 12.5 megapixels than in the Alexa. In theory some slight aliasing is possible, but in practice I haven't seen it yet.
On the other hand are you really going to compare a $65,000 camera to a $13,500 camera?
Well, since RED has more resolution without any obvious aliasing and Aleaxa has about the same resolution, why not compare in this respect? There are many other points in favor of the Alexa.
I haven't seen any obvious aliasing on the F3 unless people have really screwed up the picture profile. It does produce a little moire at the very highest frequencies, which in real life is fairly rare. I've only seen it when specifically testing for it.
Since neither is generally a practical concern, lets compare the really important feature of the F3... That is that I could buy 5 F3's for the price of an Alexa. In 90% (probably more) of the shots they will intercut between indistiguishable to just fine. For an Indie budget that's the big consideration. Most of the capability at a fraction of the price.
I like the Alexa, but its in an entirely different price point aimed at an entirely different market. If you can't afford an Alexa there's not much use in trying to say its better. It is better, but its just not a must have.
